Trauma & Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Trauma can cause flashbacks, nightmares, emotional numbness, or heightened anxiety, making it hard to feel safe or in control.

If these and other symptoms characteristic of PTSD are present for an extended period and are causing ongoing distress and impairment in daily life, they may indicate PTSD. No one can stop the pain and suffering that comes with being human; it's something we all go through. Counselling can help with trauma and PTSD in a way that you process these painful experiences and move towards healing. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic approach, guided exposure therapy, work with your hurt ‘inner child’, and trauma-informed care, we’ll work together to reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic past events. As a result of this therapeutic approach, you may feel less triggered or experience triggers with less intensity, have improved emotional regulation, increased self-compassion and a restored sense of safety. I will do my best to support you in reclaiming your life from the hold of trauma, one step at a time.
